The Testimony of the Better Blood
Hebrews 12:24 – “And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.”
The Power in the Blood
The human body carries about five quarts of a miraculous fluid called blood. It’s a perfect mix of cells and proteins designed by God to sustain life. Every second, that blood delivers oxygen, removes toxins, and carries healing wherever there’s a wound.
Scientists have tried for centuries to duplicate it—using milk, saline, even synthetic compounds—but nothing works. You can create artificial insulin or vitamins, but you cannot replicate the blood.
It’s the same in the spiritual sense.
There is no substitute for the blood of Jesus Christ.
No good deed, no moral effort, no self-improvement can replace what His blood does. That’s why the church still sings:
“There is power, power, wonder-working power,
In the blood of the Lamb.”
Cain, Abel, and the Voice of Blood
Genesis tells the story of two brothers: Cain and Abel. Both brought an offering to the Lord. Cain brought the fruit of his harvest; Abel brought a spotless lamb. God accepted Abel’s offering but rejected Cain’s, and jealousy turned into rage.
By sunset, Abel’s blood soaked the ground—and heaven heard it.
“The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.” (Genesis 4:10)
Abel’s blood cried for justice. It condemned Cain, cursed him, and separated him from God’s presence.
And here’s the hard truth: we are all Cain—sinners standing guilty before a holy God. Our sins cry out against us. But thank God there is another voice.
The Better Blood Speaks
Hebrews 12:24 says that the blood of Jesus “speaks better things than that of Abel.”
Abel’s blood cried for judgment. Jesus’ blood cries for mercy.
Abel’s blood exposed guilt. Jesus’ blood covers it.
Abel’s blood marked a curse. Jesus’ blood broke it forever.
Every drop that fell at Calvary still speaks today.
His Blood Says, “You Are Forgiven.”
The blood of Jesus doesn’t just pardon—it purifies. It removes the stain of sin and restores what shame has broken.
“To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood.” (Revelation 1:5)
His Blood Says, “You Are Redeemed.”
We were hopeless debtors. But Jesus paid the full price, buying our freedom from sin.
“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Ephesians 1:7)
His Blood Says, “You Are Justified.”
When God looks at you, He doesn’t see your guilt—He sees the blood.
“Being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” (Romans 5:9)
His Blood Says, “You Are Reconciled.”
Sin built a wall between man and God, but the blood tore it down.
“Ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.” (Ephesians 2:13)
His Blood Says, “You Are Healed.”
He was wounded for our transgressions and by His stripes, we are healed.
“By whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)
His Blood Says, “You Are Victorious.”
The blood that marked Israel’s doorposts still marks believers today.
“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” (Revelation 12:11)
Because of His blood, you are not the victim—you are the victor.
The Blood Still Speaks
You may think, “But you don’t know what I’ve done.” Maybe you’ve caused pain, made wrong choices, or feel too far gone.
The Pharisees carried guilt from “Abel to Zechariah,” and Jesus told them they were guilty from A to Z. But He also showed that His mercy stretches from A to Z.
No matter how far you’ve fallen, His blood reaches farther. No matter how deep the stain, His blood washes deeper.
“The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7)
Every sin. Every failure. Every secret shame. The blood of Jesus is more than enough.
You’re not beyond grace. You’re not outside redemption. The blood still speaks—and it says you’re forgiven, you’re free, and you belong to Him. This is the testimony of the better blood.
