No More the Devil’s Children

John 8:42–44 (NKJV)

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God… You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.”

The Family Line That Divides Humanity

From Genesis to John, Scripture draws a sharp distinction between two families: the children of God and the children of the devil. It’s not about ancestry or heritage. It’s about obedience and likeness. You become what you obey.

In Genesis 6, we read that “the sons of God came in to the daughters of men.” The result wasn’t mythical giants—it was moral collapse. The godly mixed with the ungodly, obedience joined hands with rebellion, and wickedness filled the earth. Yet in the middle of corruption, “Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.” Obedience preserved his family while rebellion drowned the world.

The same division stands in John 8. The Pharisees claimed Abraham’s bloodline, but Jesus told them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.” Lineage isn’t biological—it’s behavioral.

The Devil Still Has Children

Jesus called the devil a murderer and the father of lies. His nature has always been to destroy everything God loves. He still works in “the sons of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2), shaping minds, distorting truth, and reproducing his character in human lives.

Pride, fear, rebellion, and division are his offspring. They fracture families, divide churches, and silence conviction. But there’s good news: you don’t have to carry his nature any longer. The Father in heaven is reclaiming His image in His people again.

The Devil’s Nature Is Rebellion

At the core of Satan’s identity is one word: refusal. Isaiah recorded his rebellion with five tragic words—“I will.” Not once did he say, “Thy will.” Rebellion started in heaven, whispered in the garden, and still echoes in human hearts today: “You don’t have to listen.”

Sin always begins with a small refusal. It hardens the heart and blinds the eyes to truth. Every time we resist God’s voice, we grow more like the one who first said no to Him. The only cure for rebellion is repentance, and repentance begins with one word—yes.

The Devil’s Voice Is Deception

If rebellion is his nature, deception is his language. Jesus said, “When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources.” Every lie finds its origin in him.

The enemy renames sin to make it sound harmless. Pride becomes confidence. Lust becomes love. Compromise becomes open-mindedness. The result is confusion and bondage disguised as freedom. But truth is still stronger than deception.

Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Every time you speak truth, live truth, or pray truth, you break chains that deception built.

The Devil’s Children Multiply Darkness

Every kingdom reproduces after its kind. God multiplies light. The devil multiplies darkness. When rebellion isn’t confronted, it reproduces. When deception isn’t exposed, it spreads.

That’s why Paul warned, “Neither give place to the devil.” Don’t give him a seat at your table or a root in your heart. When the Church walks in truth, darkness loses its ground. When the Spirit moves freely, false spirits fall silent.

God Has Children, Too

The story doesn’t end with the devil’s family. “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it.”(John 1:5)

Through the New Birth, God doesn’t just forgive—He adopts. He gives His name, His Spirit, and His nature to His children. “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12)

Baptism in Jesus’ Name severs the old bloodline. The Holy Ghost gives us the voice and nature of our new Father. We stop echoing hell’s lies and start speaking heaven’s truth.

The Family Line Can Change

The question Jesus asked in John 8 still stands: “Who is your father?” It’s not about who raised you—it’s about who rules you. Obedience reveals parentage. Every heart answers that question through its choices.

The good news? Anyone can change families. Repentance is spiritual emancipation. Baptism cuts every tie to the old bloodline. The Holy Ghost gives you a new language, a new nature, and a new name. “If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

The devil multiplies by deception, but God multiplies by adoption. You don’t belong to the accuser—you belong to the Father. The old bloodline ends here. A new identity begins today.

You are no longer the devil’s child. You are a child of God.
